Information We Collect
In the course of using the Elective Africa website, you may provide us with specific personal information. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you, and information on your use of and activities at the Elective Africa website that is connected with you.
Personal Information that we collect may include but is not limited to your name, phone number, email address and postal addresses, as well as information you supply concerning your preferences and interests.

If you voluntarily sign up for a MyElective account, we will store and protect your data to make higher quality travel recommendations based on your interests for as long as you are logged in. To delete your MyElective account and all associated personally identifiable data, please contact info@electiveafrica.com.

How We Collect Data
Inquiry Form & Application Form
If you voluntarily use the Elective Africa Inquiry Form and Application Form, your Personal Information will be collected and stored in our database and reviewed by our Placement Advisors to answer your inquiry and give recommendations accordingly.
Chat Platform
If you voluntarily use our Chat Platform on the website, your personal information will be collected and stored in our database and reviewed by our placement advisors to answer your inquiry.
MyElective Tool
If you voluntarily create a MyElective Account on our site, your Personal Information will be collected and stored in our database indefinitely, unless you otherwise communicate to us and request for your personal information to be deleted.
By checking the Consent Checkbox, you willingly give Elective Africa consent to collect and store your Personal Information and share it with our internal team in order to provide you with more accurate recommendations or improve our services.
We will not share the Personal Information associated with your MyElective Account directly to any third parties unless you provide written consent via email. To delete your account or withdraw consent, please contact info@electiveafrica.com.
Use of Participant Images
By applying to an Elective Africa program, you agree that Elective Africa may take pictures during your program participation, which may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to our website, social media channels, and marketing materials.
If you do not wish for your photographs to be used in this manner, please notify us in writing at info@electiveafrica.com.
Security
Elective Africa is very concerned with safeguarding your information. We employ commercially reasonable measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access.
These measures include policies, procedures, employee training, physical access and technical elements relating to data access controls, and employing hosting services from an industry compliant datacenter provider.
Elective Africa uses a third party (PayPal) service for all credit card transactions.
Storage of Personal Data
Elective Africa retains personal information for as long as it is reasonably required for legal or business purposes. In doing so, Elective Africa takes into account all applicable laws, contractual obligations, and your wishes.
When Elective Africa no longer needs your personal information, it shall be deleted or destroyed.
Your personal information may be transferred to, accessed from and stored in servers and facilities located in another country. Elective Africa will take the necessary steps to ensure that the information continues to be protected wherever it is located.
Access, Rectification & Deletion
You may have access to your personal information upon your request, subject to any legal requirements in force at the time.
You have the right to request at any time that your data as stored by Elective Africa be rectified or deleted, following which Elective Africa will rectify or delete your data to the extent allowable by any applicable written law.
Filing a Complaint
Elective Africa is willing to hear and rectify any complaint that you have with regard to the handling of your personal information. In the event of a complaint, please contact: info@electiveafrica.com.
You also have the right to complain about the manner in which your personal information has been handled by Elective Africa to any data protection regulator.
Children's Privacy
Out of special concern for children's privacy, Elective Africa does not knowingly accept online personal information from children under the age of 13. Elective Africa does not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to become registered members of the website, or buy products and services on the website.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without their consent, he or she should contact us at info@electiveafrica.com.

By participating in an Elective Africa program, participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Elective Africa reserves the right to make updates or changes to these terms as necessary, with notification to participants where applicable.
